Fender Stratacoustic Guitars

Updated on April 4, 2013

The Fender Stratacoustic In Classic Sunburst Finish

Fender has redesigned and upgraded the Stratacoustic and Telecoustic acoustic/electric models!

The $200 model seen here with fiberglass back and sides is still being produced with the Squier label.

The newer deLuxe models from Fender have upgrades you'll appreciate for around $500. They now have a spruce top, solid mahogany back and laminated mahogany sides.

You'll find a Fishman classic IV MT pre-amp, built-in tuner, built-in Fender Telecaster pick-up, Fishman under-the-saddle pick-up and vintage Fender style machine heads.

All models come with a genuine Fender bolt-on, maple neck with 21-fret, rosewood fretboard and a rosewood bridge.

Oh, and if you're a Telecaster player, there are equivalent Telecoustic models. You can seem 'em by clicking on the link to the Fender Telecoustic Guitar lens link below. I don't actually have the Strat, but I LOVE my Telecoustic!

Fender DeLuxe Stratacoustic!

You may miss the whammy bar, but I can tell you this is a great guitar for playing slide.

Many players and reviewers found the original tinny, unplugged. The deLuxe model seems to have conquered this and with a good acoustic amp, you can get nice, true-sounding acoustic tones (you could do nearly as well with the original!).

It's great unplugged for quiet practice, but has considerably better volume and tone than any "practice guitar". I bought my Telecoustic for the authentic neck of a Telecaster in an in expensive guitar and I almost never plug it in.

Pictured here is the deLuxe model in black with a pick-guard (which I'd strongly recommend).
