Fender Telecoustic Guitars
The Fender Telecoustic in Candy Apple Red
This is the Telecoustic in candy apple red. It also comes stock in sunburst. For an inexpensive acoustic/electric, you really can't do better. It has a genuine maple Telly bolt-on neck with a 21-fret rosewood fretboard, just like the ones with which you're familiar. The top is spruce and the back and sides are fiberglass. The bridge is rosewood. This guitar gets incredible ring!
Excellent guitar for slide. Unplugged, it's great for quiet practice, but gives you much more sound than a "practice guitar"!
You will not be disappointed in this guitar!
The $200 model is now only made as a Squier, but Fender is making a deluxe model with all the higher-end features you may have gotten used to on the newer Fender electrics. Plus they are available in additional finishes.
The Telecoustic is considerably deeper than a standard Telly, so a case was hard to find (it comes with a gig-bag) until Fender started making cases specifically for the Telecoustic.
Oh, and if you're a Strat player, there also are Stratacoustic models! You can see 'em on my Fender Statacoustic Guitars lens by clicking on the link below.
Sunburst Telecoustic
My first Telecoustic was in this sunburst finish, a Fender standard.
Pictured here is the deluxe model with spruce top, solid mahogany back, laminated mahogany sides, Fishman Classic IV MT pre-amp, built-in tuner, built-in Fender Telecaster pick-up and Fishman under-the-saddle pick-up and vintage Fender style machine heads.
I'd strongly recommend getting a pick-guard.
