General Smedley Butler

Updated on June 23, 2014

Major General Smedley D. Butler was a man ahead of his time

Marine Major General Smedley Darlington Butler warned us about the "military industrial complex" decades before President Eisenhower did. What he said is at least as relevant today as it was then.

The most highly decorated soldier of WWI, Butler had an epiphany which he shared in his small book, "War Is A Racket", insisting that war is ALWAYS about the few making enormous profits at the expense of the many. He proposed an interesting solution to the problem for America.

He also exposed (and, most likely, prevented the follow-through of) a plot by a cabal of American industrialists and power brokers to stage a coup against President Franklin Roosevelt in 1934.

I have read The Plot To Seize The White House; The Shocking TRUE Story of the Conspiracy to Overthrow FDR by Jules Archer and I highly recommend it, especially if you are skeptical when it comes to "conspiracy theories". If you think that it would be impossible to plot the assassination of a US president and get away with it or that it would be impossible to demolish the World Trade Center and blame it on airliners crashing into the buildings, if the airliners weren't responsible for the buildings falling, then I think you should read about how the most highly decorated soldier of World War I exposed a plot by some of this nation's top industrialists to force FRD to turn power over to them and turn the country into a fascist state, but in the end absolutely no charges were brought against the plotters and the whole thing was swept under the rug.

The Most Important Things

to learn from Major General Smedley Butler are contained in the following links.

Family Of Secrets by Russ Baker - The Bush Dynasty, The Powerful Forces That Put It In The White House, And What Their Influence Means For America

This book is a must read for anyone who wants to understand why The United States is in such deep crap at the hands of George W, Bush, his family and their associates.

Within these pages, Baker details heretofore suspected but unexplained evidence of George H.W. Bush's connections to the CIA dating back to at least 1953, The Bay Of Pigs invasion of Cuba and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, including his close association with Oswald "baby-sitter", George de Mohrenschildt.

The evolution of President Eisenhower - bears strong similarities to that of General Butler
