Jeff Beck
Jeff Beck, guitarist extraortinaire!
As guitarist Bob Enik once put it to me: "Jeff Beck can do more with one note than some guys can do with an entire song."
I would only amend that to say "most guys".
You have to listen to understand.
People always want to argue about who is "the best guitarist". Why bother? Styles of music alone make it a moot issue. But there isn't a great guitarist on the planet who doesn't respect Jeff Beck's ability.
Jeff Beck never ceases to amaze me!
I remember the previously unheard of things Jeff used to do with the Yardbirds and ever since the release of his first solo album "Truth" in 1967, if Jeff and I are in the same area and he's playing, I'm there, but it wasn't until I saw him from the fourth row center at Great Woods in Massachusetts on the tour for his 2003 album "Jeff" that I was able to see that he was playing mind blowing licks without the use of a guitar pick!
